Clash of Clans Town Hall 4 Farming Strategy with Video Guide
So you’ve spent your $25 000 gold and waited an entire day to reach Town Hall level 4 in Clash of Clans, but now what are you supposed to do? There are a ton of new things that you’ll have to learns and consider as you progress through each of the Town Hall levels, but today we’re going to be talking specifically about what your farming strategy needs to be at this part in the game. By the time you’re finished reading this relatively short article you’ll not only be a Town Hall level four master, but you’ll also know how to begin preparing for level five and beyond.
Clash of Clans: The Basics of Town Hall 4
To get to Town Hall level 4 in Clash of Clans, you’re going to have to invest $25 000 and 24 hours of your time. Once your Town Hall level has upgraded, you’ll notice that you’ve gained access to another Archer Tower as well as an Air Defense tower – Check out some of our other articles to learn how to use these and other items to your fullest advantage.
Because It’s still at a relatively early stage in the game, it’s actually quite easy to farm in Town Hall level 4. Basically, what you’re going to want to do is start looking for awful base designs (ones that you can clearly invade and conquer easily – There will be a surprising number of them still around at this stage because people will still be experimenting with what exactly works best for them). Alternatively, you can keep an eye out for and aim to attack full resource collectors – This is an especially effective strategy if your main purpose for playing the game is farming because you’re sure to get more out of someone that has full resources.

How To Tell If Your Enemy’s Collectors Are Full Or Not
Typically, your big raids – the ones where you end up walking away with the most loot – will come from collectors that are full to capacity. One way to easily get a general idea of how much you’ll gain is to look at your opponent’s elixir collectors – If they’re a dark shade of pink, they’re absolutely full to the brim with resources that are hot for the taking.
If a collector isn’t dark pink yet, don’t think that it doesn’t have any elixir in it for you to grab because it very likely does. Just because the collector isn’t full, doesn’t mean that you won’t still walk away with a pretty heavy bounty after you conquer it in a raid. The great thing about collectors is that for some reason a lot of people tend to leave them completely (or at least relatively) exposed (as well as mines, but you won’t be seeing those until later); most of the time all you need to do is send in a handful of Barbarians to do the job for you, and before you know it you’ll have all the loot you desire.
Know How To Protect What’s Yours
Basically the way it works in Town Hall level four is that as long as you’re protecting all of your resources well, you should be good. To efficiently protect your resource buildings it’s usually a good idea to have your resource buildings relatively centralized. By keeping you’re the resource buildings of your village in the center (or close to it) of your grid, you’re ensuring that your enemy is going to have to fight their way through a whole whack of other things before they’ll even be able to think about taking what rightfully belongs to you.
Because it’s still such an early stage in the game, there’s only going to be so much you’re going to be able to do to protect your resources. As you progress through some of the later town levels you’re going to notice that your defensive powers increase tenfold, but for now you’re going to have to make due with what you have. It’s not going to be easy by any means, but with the right layout you can at least have a shot at keeping your resources as opposed to basically just giving them away (which is exactly what would be happening in the event you didn’t place and protect those resource buildings of yours carefully). Another plus side is that you don’t have a whole lot of resources to lose yet (although it might very well seem like you do, but just wait until you progress through the later levels In the game!).
All you need to have on hand in order to make it to level five is $150 000 and a little spare time (gotta love those free games and how they base everything on that time, huh?), but before you go moving on, you should seriously consider taking some time to upgrade all of the things on your map that need it. Not only will upgrading your buildings help you collect more resources and make your defense against your enemy stronger, it will also give you the best defense possible moving into Town Hall level five.
It might not have mattered so much up until this point (and quite frankly it’s really only just starting to now), but as you begin moving on in the Clash of Clans game and you start to get to the later levels, just upgrading things in the right order and at the right time can be the difference between an incredibly well protected village and one that’s incredibly susceptible to attacks.
Try not to upgrade too many time consuming buildings at once to avoid getting beaten by your opponent, and use any shield you can get to your advantage. Also, keep in mind that if you have a protective shield over your village and you attack someone else, that shield will be gone. Think wisely and consider your opponents layout wisely with every attack you make, and use the time with a shield to upgrade everything when you aren’t.
